This project marks my first step into the world of photography. It combines two of my passions: storytelling and one of my favourite winter activities — skating. The experience of skating, especially at night, added a whimsical and mysterious touch to the entire scene, making it a perfect subject for my project.

In this project, I took on the role of the photographer, donning my skates and attempting to maintain balance while capturing the best angles. The challenge was to find creative ways to document the movement and energy of skating while also ensuring the photos reflected the unique atmosphere of the winter night.

Throughout this project, I learned valuable technical skills, particularly regarding shutter speed, ISO, and aperture. While learning in class is essential, the real breakthrough came through practice. Applying the theoretical knowledge in real-world settings allowed me to understand the technical aspects much better. This hands-on experience has been an ideal way to implement what I’ve learned and gain further insight into photography.
